Avis announced as Top Car Hire Company at Icon Brand Awards

For the third consecutive year, Avis was announced as the number one car hire company in the 2015/2016 Icon Brands Survey at an awards ceremony held at The Venue in Johannesburg on the 28th of July 2015.

The Icon Brands Survey by Ask Afrika recognises brands used most loyally by South Africans across age, income, race and language spectrums. South African consumers vote to select their Icon Brands that they have established a strong and timeless relationship with.

Rainer Gottschick, Chief Executive of Avis Southern Africa says, “We are proud to be recognised as the top car hire company for the third year running. This is testament to the hard work of our Avis brand ambassadors. We will continue to strive for excellent service and live up to our brand promise ‘We Try Harder’.”

“Key to winning an award such as this is our Avis Customer Satisfaction.  We really drive and measure our Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) and this helps us identify any deviations in service immediately.  The Index also assists Avis in keeping up to date with customers’ needs, changing technology and social trends,” concludes Gottschick.

The Icon Brands Survey is the largest of its kind in South Africa with 19 sectors, hundreds of product categories and thousands of brands included in the measurement.  The survey is the broadest brand benchmark and highlights brands that are ubiquitous and quintessentially South African. It takes into consideration product; brand; product and service consumption; lifestyles – attitudes and habits over a wide range of topics; media consumption; and demographics. A total of 15000 consumers were surveyed in more than 8000 communities, representing more than 21 million adult South African consumers.
